One family in Georgia may be experiencing considerable hardship after a recent accident. It was reported that a tractor trailer was traveling southbound when the driver apparently lost control of the big rig. As a result, the truck traveled into the northbound lanes and crashed into three other vehicles, resulting in a fatal accident. The truck turned onto its side before coming to a stop.
The crash resulted in a 21-year-old woman suffering fatal injuries. She was in one of the three other vehicles that had been hit by the truck. Five other individuals were also injured. It was noted that they were taken from the scene to be treated for those injuries. It was not specifically detailed which victims were in which vehicles, and their ages and identities were not given at the time of the report.
The incident was still under investigation at the time of the media report. It was mentioned that the Georgia State Patrol and others were looking into the incident. It was unclear whether any charges may result from the crash. More information may be available when the investigations conclude.
There could be potential for civil action to be taken as a result of this fatal accident. Apart from any claims filed by seriously injured accident victims, the deceased victim’s family may feel that filing a wrongful death claim against the driver of the truck and the trucker’s employer could be a course of action they wish to follow. Filing such a claim could help them pursue compensation for the monetary damages incurred as a result of the Georgia accident.
