Fatal accidents are never easy on the surviving loved ones of the victims. In many cases, family members have numerous questions regarding the car accident and what choices they will need to make in the wake of such an event. Luckily, individuals who have been tragically affected by such an event do have legal options that they can explore.
The families of three individuals may be looking into such options after a fatal Georgia accident. It was reported that three individuals were in a vehicle on their way to church when the vehicle was hit by an SUV. The driver of the SUV failed to stop at a red traffic light, which resulted in the collision. Apparently alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Sadly, all three individuals in the first car suffered fatal injuries. Details were not available regarding whether the parties died at the scene or succumbed to their injuries at a later time. It was noted that the driver of the SUV was taken into custody and charged with DWI and vehicular homicide. It was not mentioned whether that individual was injured in the crash.
As the families of the victims work through their grief, they may find that seeking compensation for their losses could be a step they wish to take. In doing so, they may wish to file wrongful death claims against the driver considered at fault for the Georgia car accident. These claims could allow them to work toward gaining reparations for damages, and if the driver is convicted of the criminal charges leveled against him, that information may be presented as evidence in the civil cases.
