Fatal accident claims life of driver in Georgia

Fatalities resulting from a car accident are often considered the worst possible outcome of such a situation. The families of fatal accident victims would likely agree with this sentiment as they often face additional difficulties in the wake of such an event, along with the loss of their loved one. Funeral arrangements and other expenses could lead to financial hardships, and filing a legal claim may be an option to consider.

It was recently reported that an accident in Georgia resulted in the death of an individual. Reports stated that a vehicle was traveling south when another vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign. As a result, the second vehicle collided with the side of the first vehicle. The impact caused the first vehicle to leave the roadway and crash into a building.

The incident resulted in the driver of the first vehicle suffering fatal injuries. Two passengers in that vehicle were transported from the scene to area hospitals due to serious injuries. The driver of the second vehicle claimed that her brakes were not working, which resulted in her inability to stop at the stop sign. At the time of the report, charges had not been filed in relation to the event, but an investigation is ongoing.

As the family of the fatal accident victim comes to term with their loss, they may face difficult decisions in the times ahead. Choices regarding funeral arrangements for their loved one can prove to be both emotionally and financially taxing. If they feel it could be right for their situation, they may wish to file a wrongful death civil claim against the driver considered at fault in order to seek compensation for damages permissible under Georgia law.
