Truck accident claims life of Georgia driver

There are many situations that could arise on the roadway that a driver may not have been expecting. Another driver could perform an unexpected action, or a vehicle or one of its parts could malfunction. If a truck experiences an issue while traveling, an accident could possibly take place. A truck accident could then lead to injuries and a possible legal situation for those individuals involved.

The family of a Georgia woman may be exploring legal options after their loved one was killed in a recent accident. It was reported that the woman was driving an SUV and traveling east when her vehicle was hit by a westbound dump truck. A tire on the truck had apparently blown, causing the driver to lose control and swerve into the opposite lanes of travel.

Both vehicles left roadway, and the driver of the SUV suffered fatal injuries. The driver of the dump truck was injured and taken from the scene to be treated. The severity of those injuries was not mentioned in the report. It was stated that charges would not be filed in connection with the fatal event.

Though no criminal charges will be filed in the wake of the truck accident, the family of the victim may wish to consider filing a civil claim against the party or parties considered responsible. A wrongful death claim could allow them to utilize the legal system in order to work toward gaining compensation for their loss. Information on following through with such a claim in Georgia may help them determine whether it is a step they wish to take.
