Georgia car accident causes multiple deaths

On many roadways with multiple lanes and heavy traffic there are physical medians to separate the opposite lanes of travel. Some of these medians are concrete barriers and others may only be grassy strips. Though they may help in keeping the lanes separated, these medians cannot always prevent a vehicle from crossing over and a serious car accident from taking place.

An accident recently occurred in Georgia after a vehicle crossed a grass median and collided head-on with another vehicle. It was reported that an SUV was traveling west when it traveled into the median and then into the eastbound lanes. The SUV then collided with a truck that was traveling east. The SUV had six occupants at the time of the crash, and the truck had two occupants.

Three individuals in the SUV were killed in the crash, and one individual in the truck was killed. Four other parties all suffered serious injuries and were transported to area hospitals to be treated. It was not noted in the report what may have caused the SUV to cross the median, but authorities should continue to investigate the situation.

Because the car accident led to multiple fatalities, it is possible that wrongful death claims could result. It was unclear whether the driver of the SUV survived the incident, but nonetheless, steps could be taken to pursue compensation for the deaths of the individuals and other damages. Information on civil claims and the legal process in Georgia may prove useful to parties considering this option.
